We Are One International Party in Kyoto (Mostly referred to as We Are One) is an international social group that aims to create a platform for the international community in Kyoto to get together and to expand their social network among foreigners as well as Japanese.

The group was started by Kazuki, back in 2008 by organizing international parties in various bars and pubs in Kyoto. In November 2009, Nobu and Tong joined Kazuki as organizers and a chain of revolutionary progresses and exciting events have started ever since. Kazuki graduated from Ritsumeikan University more than a year ago. He had student exchange experience in Canada and he is now actively working on various personal projects. Nobu had returned from Canada about three years ago after going through high school and tertiary education at Toronto. He is a mechanical engineer and is passionate in the motor racing industry as his career. Tong graduated from National University of Singapore last year with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He is now working in a biofuel company in Japan since last fall. He also had various overseas experiences in both Japan and in France.

So these three young men with some international sense each started working together on We Are One. The first major event was the End of Year party held at an Izakaya with good food and drinks. It turned out to be a successful hit with more than 50 people turned up at the event. People coming to the events are foreigners and Japanese from all walks of life and all ages from students, working adults, businessmen and even a family with 3 children under 4 years old.

In February, We Are One went out of the conventional bar and pub parties and organized the first Winter Tour to Shiga. It was not the usual ski or snowboard but another exciting game called snowspeed where the rider slide down snow mountains with the ground 30cm away from their face. Recently they have also met up with a NPO supporting foreign students in Kyoto and they plan to have some collaboration in helping those students to have a more enjoyable stay in Japan. On 4th April We Are One is organizing a Hanami picnic event at Maruyama Park in Kyoto where members are invited to bring their own food and drinks to share with the rest and to enjoy the Sakuras together. We Are One also plans to organize a wider range of activities and expand its operational area to neighboring Osaka and Kobe.

We Are One is constantly inviting interested people to join their events and also individuals who are interested in organizing the event with them, to date, an English, a Japanese and a Korean have joined in as part of the staff team.
